Cedar Pond Canoeing Overnight Trip – Group N

This one night canoe/camping trip will introduce participants to the basics of flat-water canoeing. Campers will paddle the waters of Lake Tiorati in Harriman State Park. We will teach proper paddling techniques as well as watercraft safety. Groups will set up camp at the Cedar Pond camping area, located on a beautiful and private peninsula. See packing list to the left. This trip begins on July 24th and ends on July 25th.

Day Hike: West Mountain Ramble – Groups I & J

The Fawn and Timp-Torne Trails will provide some challenges - and great views - on the way up West Mountain. As we're rambling we'll intersect with the famous Appalachian Trail, find a mica mine, perhaps even come across the bashful skink lizards that live up in the higher elevations of the park. When the camp day ends our adventure begins!  A short hike will bring us to our campsite where we will set up tents and cook dinner outdoors. The evening will end with a twilight hike in search of bug-hunting bats, fireflies beginning to ‘fire’ and other previews of the coming nighttime. Parents will pick up their almost overnighters in front of the main camp building – the Lower School of Green Meadow. Pick up time for group F is at 7:30…
