The Nature Place Day Camp

Six Weeks: July 1 – August 9, 2019

For children ages 4-16

For 33 summers The Nature Place has been providing a nature-oriented, non-competitive camp experience where children can truly be themselves, connecting with others and with the earth. We will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2019.

You may choose to enroll your child(ren) for three, four, five, or six weeks. Enrolling for one or two weeks is often possible, but requires a conversation with our office preceding enrollment. Contact:

Farm & Garden Days

One Week: August 12 – 16, 2019

For children ages 5-13

Farm and Garden Days is a collaboration between The Nature Place and Threefold Educational Foundation’s Pfeiffer Center. Campers in this hands-on program focus on exploring Duryea Farm and the Pfeiffer Center’s biodynamic gardens on our campus.

One Week: August 11 – 16, 2019

For adolescents ages 13-16

Passages is a week-long overnight wilderness experience that provides a nurturing and meaningful rite-of-passage experience for adolescents ages 13-16. This program guides and supports young adult campers through an immersive week of exploring their relationship to self, to community, and to the earth.

Art & Earth

One Week: August 12 – 16, 2019

For children ages 9-14

Where fine art and nature unite! Art & Earth is an art & nature-based program for young people who have a passion for visual art and who find inspiration in nature. Campers in this program learn to work with a variety of art mediums and techniques, including (but not limited to) watercolor, charcoal, and clay.

Music & Movement

One Week: August 12 – 16, 2019

For children ages 8-14

Join Nature Place crowd-favorite Mashobane Moruthane for an energizing, upbeat, and rhythmatic week of percussion, dance, storytelling, games, swimming, and more! Designed for campers ages 8-14, this program focuses on traditional African drumming and movement, culminating in an end-of-week performance.

Primitive Living Skills

Year-round series

Series offered for Children (10-14), Adults (17+), and Families.

Our Primitive Living Skills is an immersive, hands-on (and hands-in—the fire pit, the dirt, the stream) weekend program, designed to build a foundation in the ancestral skills of building shelter and fire, and securing food and water from nature. Learn more here.
