Tim Pellegrin

Tim, a high school social worker, remembers jumping onto Indeed.com in 2018 as part of exploring the idea of working at a summer camp that his older daughter would/should attend. He quickly found The Nature Place Day Camp, and after reading about the camp’s mission, values and program, thought “thank you, Universe!” Tim was a counselor for two years, and loved spending magical days with his campers, watching their spirits shine as they explored and played in nature together. Tim joined the Social and Behavioral Team this summer and is so grateful to be able to support all campers, especially those who may be struggling in the social-emotional-behavioral realm. Tim values partnering with parents to make sure their children have the healthiest, most positive and uplifting camp experiences possible. Tim also works closely with our amazing counselors as part of the camp’s team approach to assuring absolutely stellar camper care!

Tim is a licensed social worker. He received his MSW from CUNY Hunter College and BSW from CUNY Lehman College. Tim has been in the school setting for five years, and worked in the foster care and supportive housing systems before that. Tim also works with clients individually as part of a clinical group practice. Tim’s love of nature started early, with Adirondack night skies at his childhood friend Jon’s cabin. His love deepened through extensive traveling and hiking/camping throughout the U.S. (including a cross-country hitchhiking trip), as well as India, Southeast Asia and Europe. Tim cherishes the daily drives home with his daughter, when she recaps her magical days at NPDC (before passing out).
