Guided Day Hikes

Hit the trails with us in our favorite stomping grounds.

Join Nature Place trip leader, Roger Dubin, for fun, family-friendly excursions in Harriman State Park! Each of our Day Hikes explores a different area of the park (see below for hike descriptions).

Hit the trails with us and meet other outdoor-loving families, learn about local plants and animals, get in some good exercise in the fresh air, and enjoy your packed lunch with a beautiful view. We’ll provide you with further details, including meet-up location when you register.

As we will be covering some miles, please consider your child(ren)’s hiking capacity before deciding to attend. 

$25 per adult
$10 per child

All hikes take place from
10 AM to 2 PM

March 21, 2020 – Pine Swamp Loop

We’ll travel on the lovely Long Path, and enjoy lake and swamp views, with an optional excursion to the amazing abandoned Pine Swamp Mine.

April 18, 2020 – Torrey Memorial on Long Mtn

We’ll hike along the Long Path to Torrey Memorial, where we’ll enjoy sweeping views of Bear Mountain, Popolopen, and Turkey Hill Lake.

May 16, 2020 – Jackie Jones Fire Tower

We’ll hike along the Suffern – Bear Mountain Trail with a visit to the ORAK ruins and an optional trip up into the Jackie Jones Fire Tower, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Welsh and NYC.

May 30, 2020 – West Mountain

We’ll hike along the Fawn and Timp-Torne trails and enjoy fantastic views along West Mountain. A highlight this time of year is hiking through the groves of Mountain Laurel which should be in bloom.
