Join Nature Place trip leader, Roger Dubin, for fun, family-friendly excursions in Harriman State Park and other area locales!

Hit the trails with us and meet other outdoor-loving families, learn about local plants and animals, get in some good exercise in the fresh air, and enjoy your packed lunch with a beautiful view. We’ll provide you with further details, including meet-up location when you register.

As we will be covering some miles, please consider your child(ren)’s hiking capacity before deciding to attend. 

$25 per adult
$10 per child

All hikes take place from
10 AM to 2 PM

COVID-19 Safety Protocols
Families hike together, socially distanced from others, and mask when distance cannot be maintained.

October 22nd, 2022 | Welcome Fall Hike @ Silvermine Lake

On this hike we travel along the beautiful Lake Nawahunta on our way up Stockbridge Mountain. On the mountain we explore the wonderful Hippo Rock, Stockbridge Shelter and the Cave Shelter rock formation. This hike is rated easy to moderate.

November 19th, 2022 (Rain Date, originally 11/12) | Pre-Thanksgiving Hike @ Pine Swamp Loop

This hike is a popular favorite which we have updated to include a newly discovered unmarked trail to a magnificent vista of the two lakes – Skannatati and Kanawauke. We will still visit our old friends, Pine Swamp and the impressive Pine Swamp Mine. This hike is rated easy to moderate.

December 3rd, 2022 | Last Call for Fall Hike @ West Mountain

The West Mountain area is in one of the most beautiful sections of the park. For this hike we follow the 1777, Timp Torne, and Appalachian Trails. The hike features sweeping views which include the Hudson River and Bear Mountain. This hike is rated moderate.
