Beans started her journey at NPDC in the summer of 2018 as a counselor, where she fully submerged herself in the culture and community of camp. She took a special liking to our archery program, and the following summer, she came back to work as the full time instructor. She spends her summers on Mary Daley Field, teaching our campers safety protocol, proper stance, and range etiquette. Her favorite part of teaching is watching each camper’s skill improve throughout the summer weeks, and seeing each camper gain more confidence through the program. Beans, a lifelong tree-hugger and recipient of a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies, now also teaches our campers sustainability topics such as upcycling, hydroponics, and proper recycling habits. In the off-season, Beans works on a Masters in Environmental Management with a concentration in Wildlife Studies and patiently waits for the next NPDC summer to start.
