Tattyanna Morales-Vega
Tattyanna, a native of New Jersey and a graduate of Drew University, experienced the joy of camp herself when she was young. Her camp journey began at 12, when she received a scholarship from Street Light Mission and St. Joseph’s to attend camp. It was there that she discovered a love for the outdoors, spending her time hiking, exploring, and having fond memories of relaxing in a hammock.
Starting as a CIT (Counselor In Training), Tattyanna has been on camp staff since she was 16. Since then, she has spent every summer working at sleepaway camps. She started in support services and the dining hall, and worked her way up to being Head Cook. Tattyanna spent a year working at a sleep-away camp, where she supported groups during off-season stays and programs.
Tattyanna continued to build on her experience through a GAP year program during the pandemic, where she realized she could pursue camp as a full-time career. Camp has played a meaningful role in Tattyanna’s life, offering a space for personal growth and connection with others. Having been part of multiple camp communities, she values the unique traditions and culture each camp brings.
Tattyanna is excited to call The Nature Place home and to be a part of a team that helps others grow in Nature. Each summer, she looks forward to deepening her connection to our planet, learning alongside campers, and helping create memorable experiences for everyone in The Nature Place community.
